About Us

Hydra Kinetics was founded over 30 years ago in 1986 as a manufacturer’s rep for custom built hydraulic cylinders manufactured in Temple, Texas.  We specialize in custom built hydraulic cylinders/actuators and valves and a variety of other hydraulic components and services.  And we have been involved in special projects around the world (and space) including high profile ones like bringing an end to the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.  Today we also provide services such as engineering, consulting, and even field labor.  Over the years we have expanded our product line to include manifolds, rotary joints, machine parts, and fittings.

We have designed and built hydraulic power systems for a variety of applications ranging from hydraulic tilt platforms for gas turbine laboratories to accumulator starter systems for firefighting equipment aboard offshore oil platforms.  In recent years, new technologies developed that allowed the use of electronic sensors within hydraulic cylinders to make them intelligent.  Some of these "smart" systems are currently in use on the ocean floor in trenching applications, and others are used on presses and pipe benders where precise feedback is required.  These high tech systems are now being sold around the world as Hydra Kinetics moves into international markets.

At Hydra Kinetics we are committed to providing quality products and services.  Our competitive pricing and world class products can service you with all of your hydraulic needs.  If you have any questions, please contact us.

Timothy New - President/CEO
Entrepreneur Timothy New has been with Hydra Kinetics since he graduated with his MBA in December 1994. At the time HKI was working in shops with dirt floors and offices in trailers and cars. His success in sales brought the company to the modern era and he quickly moved up the ranks to VP. In January 1998, HKI purchased Huskybilt, a filter manufacturer, and Timothy was placed in charge of reorganizing that division. He was able to reduce costs significantly by upgrading equipment, improving work flows and outsourcing some portions of manufacturing to other vendors. When Huskybilt was sold in April 2002 he was named President of Hydra Kinetics. From there he began to develop international accounts and traveled to Asia to develop new vendors and new products to better serve our customers.
